How the Right Mindset can Turn the Lowest Points into an Opportunity

Jul 26, 2023

The right mindset can turn even the lowest points into an opportunity for growth. Here's a post that my coach shared about me in her social media 2 years ago. It's very relevant and you may relate closely, so  I wanted to share this with you...

"Andrea has always been a hard worker. While working in her clinic, she used to see about 50 patients a week and took up a great deal of pressure.

And yet, all that effort didn't seem to have much effect on her financial situation.

In  fact, Andrea got to a point where she nearly lost everything. The patients were still there, but her clinic went through plenty of changes that required Andrea to pivot her business.

It was a very challenging time, but Andrea managed to overcome it with our help. She joined the mastermind program that allowed her to turn her short-term plan into a long-term solution.

Andrea realised that she wasn't in her 20s anymore, but rather in her mid-40s. She understood that she didn't want to keep up the same work tempo for another 15-plus years. Instead, she needed a way to improve her finances without keeping up with the massive number of patients she was seeing every week.

The approach she took after consulting with us changed everything.

Andrea created a training program and made over $70,000 in the first two months. Best of all, it was a sustainable model that could work for a long time.

Andrea achieved what every coach and business owner wants: she got out of a difficult situation and managed to protect herself while ensuring a stable source of income. And today, her business continues to thrive and she’s reached a level of impact she could only dream of.

Andrea’s success isn’t only an uplifting story about overcoming obstacles and facing challenges. It’s also an excellent source of some key lessons about building a business with confidence.

And in this article, we’ll look at three lessons in great detail.

The 3 Lessons

You might not know precisely what you want your coaching business to be when you were just starting out. In that situation, some of the greatest challenges will come from within yourself. Luckily, Andrea's example teaches us how to face those challenges.

Lesson #1. Operating With Support

It may seem that you can be entirely self-sufficient as you grow your business. But the support you receive at the beginning can be precious.

Why?

When you start building a business, you enter a creation process. That's when your ideas can still be blurry, and you can't tell how they'll play out.

But if you have support on your journey, you can start verbalizing your ideas to other people. Then, once feedback begins to come in, the direction you want to take becomes much clearer. You begin to understand that you’ll make something happen, even though you might not have an idea of how precisely you’ll do it.

This is without a doubt a crucial part of creating a business and having the right support can make it much more straightforward. If you have people to count on, you can narrow your thought process to a couple of ideas, get some priceless feedback, and make a decision.

Lesson #2. Overcoming Fear

Whether you're starting a new business or pivoting the old one, as Andrea did, you'll face many doubts. And if you're transitioning to an online coaching business, several vital questions will surface.

At the forefront, you’ll wonder whether you can get the same results for your clients in the new environment. And you’ll also have fears about how to market and sell your new program.

Andrea had precisely those fears, and they were mostly about her marketing. Yet, she gathered the courage and continued onward. It turned out that all Andrea needed to resolve her marketing doubts was a simple email sequence.

The truth is that there are always fears involved in building something new. After all, nobody wants to spend days and months on end creating a business that won’t go in the right direction. You might question your chosen area of focus, for example. But if you give in to fears such as that, it could become hard to believe that what you’re doing will really work.

Entering a new business with a fearful attitude can be a considerable drawback to all your plans.

If you want to move forward, the most important thing you can do is work on overcoming those fears. It’s true that stepping into the unknown might be daunting. But it’s the only way to create great things and grow.

Lesson #3. Low Points Create Big Growth

Coaching can be the best, most lucrative business in the world. But it can also have severe lows. If you don’t have the right mindset and learn to be tenacious, resilient, and gritty, you can end up giving up on your coaching business.

It’s easy to imagine that many people would simply quit when faced with the financial turmoil that Andrea experienced. Yet, she carried on and found a way to resolve the financial issues.

This is the perfect reaction to a troubling period in someone’s business.

If you hit a low point, you should take it as an opportunity to pivot and change. That’s where the greatest growth can come from, and it’s precisely what happened with Andrea.

So, rather than being tempted to quit, you should leverage the low points to produce progress and improvements in your coaching business.

Master Your Mindset to Overcome All Challenges

Nothing can destroy your potential for success faster than doubts and fears. But if you’re determined not to fail, you’ll be able to face all those challenges by finding another way. That’s why the key to success lies in your mindset.

Even if you find yourself in a situation where everything seems to be ripped out from under you, you can rely on great support and your ability to move past the fears and not allow them to overwhelm you. Then, your low points can become a source of power and the foundation for future success"
