March 2-8 2026
Day 1 - AM
Carla Serrano
Private Lesson - Andrea & Mike
NO AUDIO
- Soft, use control
- Slow the volleys down
- For volley, short prep, face racquet forwards, follow through downwards. Wrist is held strong, can bend a little bit for slice, but don’t need to.
- Quick return to ready position after volley
- When moving side to side, step forwards, rather than chasse side to side, will get me back to position sooner
- Tactic - when at net, play on one player 3-4x, then down middle, then switch to other player… otherwise they get too much control of the point.
- Wait to hit balls when they are waist height
DRILLS
Warm up
- always soft with bounce - mid court - parallel, if 4 people, then switch after a while to cross court
- Then further back - soft, easy to return hits down the line, the cross court
- OPTION: Volley - don’t let it bounce - parallel

- Backhand lob - don’t let racquet go too far behind you… just to side, with racquet open to correct angle.
Bandeja
- Straight away. Turn side on, arms up
- Racquet arm - high 5, a little more open, and top a little towards me
- Wait for ball to drop before hitting it
- STAY side on until contact the ball… after contact the ball, follow through downward with racquet and move forwards with body weight (to take the net again)
